The entire Westport Seabirds crew had a great time with our valued customers during our 2025 season. As they step away from Westport Seabirds, Phil and Chris Anderson want to extend a special thanks to all the customers and to the friends they have made over the past 40 years of being part of Westport Seabirds.

Westport Seabirds will continue operations in 2026 with new management.  Todd and Ann Sawin look forward to serving you and the entire birding community by continuing Westport Seabird’s tradition of offering offshore trips to see the wonders of the Pacific Ocean.  Look for new booking and payment methods on the Reservation page. You can access the 2026 Schedule Page by clicking on “2026 Schedule” located on the lefthand side of this page. There you will find our new contact information and automated reservation and payment system.

We look forward to having you join us for one of our all day pelagic birdwatching trips to one of several deep water submarine canyons that are 30 nautical miles from the mouth of Grays Harbor, on the edge of the North American continental shelf. The outer half of the shelf and the Canyons support a vast array of marine life. In addition to regular species like Black-footed Albatross and Fork-tailed Storm-Petrel, our trips feature seasonal species such as Laysan Albatross, Flesh-footed, Short-tailed, and Buller’s Shearwaters, and South Polar Skua among many other offshore species. We are also looking for whales, dolphins, porpoises, fur seals and other marine life that populate this nutrient rich environment.

All of us here at Westport Seabirds mourn the recent loss of our good friend and colleague Scott Mills.  Over the past 25 years Scott led over 300 trips for Westport Seabirds. Scott’s passion for the wonders of nature found on the open ocean was closely followed  by his strong  desire to educate others about what they saw on our trips. Scott was truly a pillar of strength for Westport Seabirds and the birding community. We salute him and we are proud to dedicate the 2026 season in his memory.
